Exploring the Children's Museum of Denver

The end of December we went to the Children's Museum of Denver. This museum allows kids to investigate, imagine, explore, and create.

We started out exploring the Box Canyon. This is a baby-friendly climb around area that is also equipped with a kayak to test your balance rowing down a river. Lizzy was unsure of this area at first but eventually warmed up to exploring and climbing around.

Once she was done exploring the canyon we imagined being fire fighters at Fire Station No. 1 which has a pole to slide down, you can drive the fire truck, and put out a fire. However, this being for kids a bit older than Lizzy, she wasn't that interested. She was more interested in the stuff animals at Ready Vet Go. She picked the animals up and put them in different cages.

We then journeyed upstairs to the My Market, which is has farmers market ingredients and a kitchen. Lizzy enjoyed trying to sort the food into bins with Michael. Since it was so busy the day we went Lizzy needed some quite time and so I took her to the Book Nook to read about the zoo.

After some quite time (to the best of our ability) we investigated the Bubbles exhibit. We tried standing in a bubble booth by pulling the rope but could only make it up to 3 feet tall! From there we went to the Energy exhibit. Lizzy strapped on a cape and took flight with the large fans blowing around.

Our last stop was Water and by far Lizzy's favorite. She got to put balls in a whirlpool and watch them get swept away! I was never quick enough supplying her with enough balls.

Later on Michael took her to explore around the water! Where she got to fish and later paint with water on a slate. She made quite the masterpiece!

Overall the trip was fun though a little chaotic with how many people were there! Lizzy was a bit too young still for the exhibits so maybe try again when she's a bit older. If she was walking at this time (she walked on her own 8 days later), she would want to explore more.
