Embarking on a journey is not just about discovering new landscapes; it's also about indulging in the diverse flavors that each destination has to offer. I had the pleasure of sampling an array of delectable dishes, each leaving a lasting impression on my palate and memory.
C-Ray Lobster - Bar Harbor, Maine
This was a very no-frills local joint that was recommended to us by a local. They said they had the best lobster. You sit outside on picnic tables and enjoy lobster.
Alisson's Restaurant and Pub - Kennebunkport, Maine
Okay...okay, two places from Maine back to back. But the lobster is that good!! In the picturesque town of Kennebunkport we stubbled upon Allison's. I eagerly ordered the lobster bisque and lobster roll.
Jerry's Foods - Sanibel, Florida
Never underestimate a grocery store's restaurant/cafe. One of my and my mom's favorite dish to get there was the Seafood Sanibel Boat. It's served in half a pineapple and with fruit on the side (which is always different).
MACS (Macaroni and Cheese Shop) - Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin
This is what I call elevated mac and cheese. Amber and I got the Chicken Bacon Ranch Mac which is a nice helping of cheddar, mozzarella, chicken and bacon. Michael had the Carnitas Mac that is loaded with pepper jack, mozzarella, corn & black bean salsa, pulled pork, lime, tortilla strips, and chipotle sauce.
My culinary journey through various destinations reaffirmed the notion that food is not merely sustenance but a gateway to cultural exploration. From the coastal flavors of Maine to the tropical delights of Florida and the comforting indulgence of Wisconsin, each destination left its mark on my taste buds, enriching my travel experience in ways beyond measure. As I continue to traverse the globe, I eagerly anticipate the next gastronomic adventure that awaits, ready to savor every moment and every bite along the way.
